An Unforgettable Experience: VMUG Connect 2025
The inaugural VMUG Connect 2025 conference gave me an exceptional experience as I joined tech enthusiasts, professionals, and innovators for an unforgettable gathering. The inaugural conference established an exceptional standard through its combination of keynote sessions and hands-on workshops and networking opportunities which focused on virtualization and cloud technologies. I will describe the exciting events including advanced demonstrations and motivational talks with industry leaders while sharing my experience of connecting with the energetic VMUG community.
Main Speakers: A Lineup That Blew My Mind
The keynote presentations at VMUG Connect 2025 were truly amazing – I was completely captivated throughout each one! The speakers were top-notch. Offered diverse viewpoints that really motivated me to explore virtualization further.
Frank Denneman provided an explanation of the developments, in VMware technology that made even the most intricate ideas easy to understand and engaging to discuss further vSphere enhancements with enthusiasm crossed over my mind affectionately geeked out over Brenda Emerson shared an insightful view on leadership in the tech industry focusing on teamwork and community values which resonated with me as I prioritize collaboration, in IT endeavors. CEO Hock Tan’s thinking approach to VMware’s future got everyone in the room excited about what lies ahead for the industry. It was as if we were given a glimpse into the future with his strategic vision, for the virtualization direction became clearer and promising.
The presenters didn’t just give speeches. Also motivated me to expand my horizons and be more daring in my work endeavors. The combination of creativity, strategy, and in-depth technical discussions was what I required to rejuvenate my passion for my job.
Panel Discussions: Wisdom from VMUG Leaders

The panel discussions were a highlight for me, offering a chance to hear from VMUG leaders who are out there making things happen in the real world. Wil Gonzalez, Eric Kubla, Marc Crawford, and Justin Sider brought their A-game, sharing insights that were both practical and inspiring. The panel felt like a conversation with mentors who genuinely wanted to help us succeed.
What I loved most was how these leaders encouraged audience participation. Many in attendance stood and asked questions and the responses were thoughtful and well said. These discussions were a treasure trove of knowledge, and I walked away with a notebook full of ideas to implement back at the office.
VCF Certification Opportunities: Leveling Up for Free

One of the BIG perks of VMUG Connect 2025 was the chance to earn VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certifications for free. As someone who’s always looking to upskill, this was a game-changer. If you haven’t already, I highly encourage you to check out the VMware Code Site where they have a video series focused on training for and passing your VMware Certification exams. You can also find them here on the VMware Code YouTube channel. The materials and interactive sessions complete with expert-led reviews and practice questions that made me feel ready to tackle the test.
The best part? The exams were available on-site at no cost. I decided to go for it and took the VCF exam, and let me tell you, passing it was one of the proudest moments of my career so far. The certification has already opened doors for me professionally and knowing it didn’t cost me a dime made it even sweeter. The hands-on labs and study resources provided at the conference were top-notch, and I felt supported every step of the way. Social Event at Anheuser-Busch Brewery: Cheers to Networking

After all the learning and brain-stretching, the social event at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery was the perfect way to unwind. Picture this: a lively evening filled with craft beer, great food, and conversations with fellow tech enthusiasts under the glow of the brewery’s iconic setting. I’m not usually one for big social gatherings, but this event was so well-organized and welcoming that I found myself chatting with new friends like we’d known each other for years.
The brewery tour was a blast and learning about the beer-making process was a fun break from the tech talk. But what made the evening truly special was the networking. I connected with people from all corners of the industry, from sysadmins to CTOs, and we swapped stories, challenges, and even a few VMware tips over our drinks. Those connections have already led to some great follow-up conversations, and I’m confident they’ll turn into valuable professional relationships.
